Tucked just minutes from campus and downtown, George Miksch Sutton Urban Wilderness Park offers 155 acres of trails, wildlife, and natural beauty. Visitors can hike through woodlands, explore the jogging paths, or relax by the lake – all without leaving the city.
Bring binoculars to spot more than 200 bird species, or keep an eye out for Texas horned lizards, white-tailed deer, and foxes along the trail. The park is also known for its blossoming plants that attract butterflies and its rich fall foliage that paints the trees in vivid colors.
