Soonercon, Oklahoma’s longest-running pop culture convention, returns this summer with a high-seas theme, “Through Salt & Storm.” Attendees can look forward to a weekend filled with panels, performances, and workshops covering pop culture from fantasy to sci-fi to gaming and everything in between.

More than a Convention

While Soonercon promises all the traditional trappings of a comic convention like autographs, panels, vendors, and costume contests with big prizes, its mission is much more. The nonprofit event is entirely volunteer-run and presented by the Future Society of Oklahoma. Its mission is to promote the arts, literature, and sciences through the lens of pop culture. 

 

At Soonercon, you’ll find hands-on workshops, STEAM-centered activities for kids, immersive themed programming, cross-cultural connections, and endless opportunities for community engagement.

Between panels and programming, you’re just minutes from Norman’s local restaurants, breweries, and late-night spots, making it easy to turn your convention weekend into a full city experience.

 

How to Attend

Attendees can purchase membership passes at Soonercon.com/memberships or at the door at the Conference Center. Kids 12 and under are free with an adult pass purchase.

A limited number of VIP passes are available for $175 before the event and include perks such as an event t-shirt, swag bag, front row seating at main events, and the ability to skip autograph lines.
