As Normanites are taking precautions and heeding advice to remain socially distant, getting outdoors may become priority for many of us.

Five spots to try:

Lake Thunderbird. With plenty of trails for walking, hiking and/or biking, the state park is located within Norman's city limits.

George Sutton Wilderness Park. Located near Robinson and 12th Ave. NE, the park offers trails for jogging and walking as well as a dog park and disc golf course.

Legacy Trail. Trace the history of Norman by walking Legacy Trail. The historical and educational story begins on Jones Avenue near Duffy Street and stretches north nearly to Robinson Street.

Legacy Park. The recently opened Legacy Park is located in the University North Park area of Northwest Norman and offers a walking/jogging path as well as a picnic area and amphitheater.

Self-guided tour of OU. Walk on the University of Oklahoma campus and take photos at the "most Instagrammable spots" along the way.
