Getting outdoors in Norman

It's mid-May which means outdoor entertainment season in Norman.

The first Outdoor Movie presentation takes place tonight with the initial Summer Breeze Concert Series performance staging Sunday night both at Lions Park.

The Summer Breeze Concert Series at Lions Park is a Norman community staple and an ideal occasion to spend Sunday evening on a blanket with a picnic dinner. Byron Berline will kick off the season Sunday. Then in June, Adam & Kizzie perform June 2 with Levi Parham taking the stage June 16 and Making Movies appearing on June 30.

Wreck-It Ralph 2: Ralph Breaks the Internet will be the first featured flick for the Outdoor Movie Series tonight (May 17) at Lions Park. Coming up in June will be SpiderMan: Into the Spiderverse on June 7 and The Greatest Showman on June 21. The movies begin at sunset with family fun activities beginning at 7 p.m.

Live @ Legacy will begin May 31 with John Calvin and Camille Harp at Legacy Park. Jabee will perform June 28 with Mike Hosty appearing July 19.

Shenandoah will perform outside Riverwind Casino as part of the Beats (live music) and Bites (food truck festival) series on June 8.

Redrock Canyon Grill hosts performers on its patio Friday and Saturday nights beginning in May. Daniel Jordan and Jordan Law will perform May 17 and 18 with Rockwell Ryan and Eric Dunkin Duo on stage May 24 and 25; What She Said Duo rounds out the month May 31.

The premier outdoor music event in Norman is Jazz in June taking place June 20-22. The 36th annual event begins June 20 with Blues Under the Stars and continues with Jazz Under the Stars June 21 (both at Brookhaven Village) with Jazz in the Park finishing up the free, three-day festival June 22 at Andrews Park.
