10 Things to Do on Fall Break in Norman
Fall break for Norman schools is coming up the first week of October and other school districts will take their days off later in the month. Have kids who need an itinerary full of fun and learning opportunities? Norman has 10 Things to Do on Fall Break.
Adventure Town is a newer Norman family spot which opened in Spring 2018. Adventure Town provides an indoor custom-built open play area, it’s a replicate of a town. Each play house is structured and outfitted with furniture, toys and costumes to let a child’s imagination run wild.
Andy Alligators Family Fun Park features indoor and outdoor activities. From the go karts,hitting cages, rock climbing wall and miniature golf outside to the miniature bowling, arcade games and bumper cards inside, everyone will have a great time. A fully stocked snack bar can serve as a meal or afternoon treat.
Climb Up Gym is a local family-owned and modern indoor rock climbing gym featuring world renowned Walltopia customized walls with a variety of climbing including an expansive bouldering area, top-roping, lead climbing, toddler room, kids area, and auto belays.
The Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art offers complimentary admission and the largest collection of Impressionist paintings at a public university in its permanent collection. Kids can see works by Van Gogh, Monet and Degas in Norman, Oklahoma. Also, a new exhibit, Ticket to Ride: Designers and Western Railways opens Oct. 5 for any of the train lovers in a family.
Need to physically exert some kids? Get Air Norman inside Sooner Mall offers that opportunity. Get Air is not your average trampoline park as it has a plethora of trampolines with a kiddie court, dodge ball and slam ball courts in addition to a slack line, foam pit, ninja course and fidget ladder.
HeyDay Entertainment Center presents indoor and outdoor entertainment along with dining options. Golf outside, play laser tag inside, eat from the Boomerang Grill menu, try out the ropes course, play arcade games and/or bowl on 24 available lanes.
The National Weather Museum and Science Center is open Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. It opened in 2016 and offers an opportunity to learn more about weather and science along with a gallery of historical meteorological instruments.
The Sam Noble Museum, otherwise known as the dinosaur museum, features permanent displays tracing more than 500 million years of Oklahoma's natural history and currently has the Megalodon exhibit. Additionally, October is Teacher Appreciation Month and all pre-K through 12th-grade educators receive complimentary admission.
Sooner Bowling Center is a family friendly, multipurpose establishment. It offers 24 lanes that feature kid friendly bowling with bumper lanes and glow bowling options. Also, the renovated game room features pool tables, arcade favorites such as skeet ball and Hoop Fever and the Spare Time Sports Grill serves a delicious menu, unique desserts like the Funnel Cake Fries and refreshing beverages.
Sooner Flight Academy is hosting a Fall Break Day Camp for 2nd-6th graders Oct. 5 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Max Westheimer Airport. Activities will include kite flying, creating wind socks and building wind energy generators.
