Westwood was designed in 1967 by golf architect Floyd Farley and later redesigned by Tripp Davis in 2003. This 18-hole course spans over 6,200 yards and proves be challenging but fair for both advanced and beginning players.
Open year-long, Westwood is well-known throughout the metropolitan area as an excellent municipal golf course that consistently offers exceptional greens. Along with the course itself, the facility containts an onsite driving range (featuring "Lunch and Launch" on weekdays), practice putting and chipping greens, a clubhouse, golf shop, restaurant, and outdoor scoreboard with an adjoining patio.
Rates are affordable and tee times and professional lessons are both available daily.
Every year the course hosts The Westwood Invitiation--a 3-day, 54 hole, stroke play tournament that usually takes place around July 4th. It is one of the state's largest and longest running tournaments.
