National Weather Center

The National Weather Center is a 250,000 s.f. facility with more than 550 scientists, meterologists, climatologists, engineers, students and staff from the University of Oklahoma, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and multiple state agencies working together to improve the understanding of the Earth's atmosphere and severe weather events.

Tours of the NWC offer a behind-the-scene look into the OU School of Meteorology, the center's enclosed observation deck, NOAA's Storm Prediction Center, the Norman National Weather Service Forecast Office and the National Severe Storms Laboratory. Public tours are offered Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 1:00 p.m. and last approximately an hour and a half. All tours require a reservation Please call or schedule a tour online at least two weeks in advance. All visitors must pass security to enter the facility.

Be sure to stop by the Flying Cow Cafe for lunch or a quick snack. And look for Dorothy from the movie The Twister.

Sooner Bowling Center is a 24 lane bed bowling facility. All lanes are USBC Certified annually for league and tournament play.
