- The University of Oklahoma's Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art is one of the nation's finest university art museums. Featuring a new wing designed by architect Hugh Newell Jacobsen, the museum's extraordinary collection includes major works by some of the most beloved artists of all time, such as Van Gogh, Degas, Renoir, Monet, Gauguin, Hopper, O'Keeffe, Ansel Adams, Allan Houser, Nicolai Fechin, Leon Gaspard and others.
The museum began a new expansion in 2009 with the addition of approximately 20,000 sq. feet of exhibition space, additional storage and an education classroom. The new space, scheduled for an opening of fall, 2011, will house the Eugene B. Adkins Collection, one of the most important private collections in the nation of works by the Taos artists as well as Native American works of art. The collection features approximately 3,300 objects, including more that 400 paintings by such distinguished American artists as Maynard Dixon, Worthington Whittridge, Andrew Dasburg, Alfred Jacob Miller, Victor Higgins, Charles M. Russell, John Marin, William R. Leigh and Joseph H. Sharp.
The FJJMA will be open and fully active during the construction process with multiple exhibitions and programs scheduled throughout the process.
Admission: $5 adults, $4 seniors, $3 youth 6-17. Free for 5 and under, Museum Association members and military veterans with proof. Admission is free on Tuesdays. Group tours and event rentals are available. The museum store is home to many fun and collectible items as well. The museum is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Norman Philharmonic
- Description:
- The Norman Philharmonic is "an innovative and standard-setting instrumental ensemble representing the progressive energies of Norman, Oklahoma, the strong faith of our spiritual community, and the pursuit of knowledge by public education and the University of Oklahoma community."
The 2012 spring season will include two concerts: The first concert will feature a world premiere "Symphony for Norman, Oklahoma," by acclaimed American composer Libbly Larsen. This will be presented at the Nancy O'Brian Center January 15. The second concert will be The Creation, an oratorio by classical composer Franz Joseph Haydn. The Creation will be produced as a fully-staged ballet in Sharp Concert Hall at the University of Oklahoma April 15.

The Crucible Foundry, Gallery and Sculpture Garden
